Level 3 in First Line Management (Award)

The Level 3 qualifications in First Line Management are developed for supervisors and first line managers who have operational responsibility for a defined area of activity.  This qualification gives junior managers the communication and motivational skills to help improve operational efficiency. 
 
They are designed for supervisors and first line managers who wish to build on and develop their existing management skills and knowledge.  These qualifications are also suitable for aspiring first line managers.
 
Award

Our Level 3 Award provides an introduction to the skills, roles and responsibilities of this management area. It will also develop your basic knowledge by focusing on the development of specific management skills.
 
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.  Assessment is normally through practical work based assignments.  This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation’s context.  Learners should have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment.  More specifically they should:
  • Understand management and leadership concepts relevant to the qualification.
  • Be able to investigate theories and current management thinking and link theory to practice.
  • Be able to communicate clearly in written English.
  • Be able to give up to date workplace examples at first lien management level from either paid or unpaid work. 
NB It is possible to do this qualification when not in employment but candidates must have had some recent experience of first line management.
