Anna has completed the ILM NVQ Level 5 in Management of Volunteers with PNE Development. She chose PNE Development as it was recommended by colleagues who had already gained a management qualification.
Anna is the South West Regional Director for Addaction, the national charity which supports individuals and communities to address substance misuse issues. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team she has a national and a regional role within Addaction. Anna is also the National Operational Lead for Volunteering, supporting the development and maintenance of volunteering across the organisation.
Anna decided to go for the qualification to fill a gap in training that was identified across the organisation.
She particularly enjoyed the professional discussions and found that her role made it straightforward for her to provide evidence for the modules. She said that discussing the modules with her assessor enabled her to effectively reflect on her role.
By doing the qualification Anna has increased her knowledge and awareness of strategy, improved her ability to pass on new skills to colleagues and increased her confidence. It has helped to unite the team who are dispersed nationally and improved the professional status of all members.
“PNE Development worked at a pace that worked for me, given the other commitments of my work. This flexibility was key. The time to reflect in modules with my assessor was really valuable and probably the most valuable aspect of the qualification.”
Overall, she is very satisfied with the experience and it has added a qualification structure to the organisation’s volunteer linked roles. Anna is happy to say that it has been very worthwhile doing the qualification.
