Level 4 in Management and Leadership


With a Level 4 qualification in Management and Leadership, your managers are equipped with invaluable skills in decision-making and people management.

Who it's for
The Level 4 qualifications in Management and Leadership have been designed for aspiring middle managers looking to develop personal management capabilities and to make effective use of information in decision-making, operations and the development of skills in managing people.
Level of study
The Level 4 Management and Leadership qualifications are available to study at Award, Certificate and Diploma levels.
Award:  Our Level 4 Award allows people to develop their knowledge of the roles and responsibilities required in management and leadership by focusing on specific skills areas. The Award takes approximately 1 to 3 months to complete.
Certificate:  A more extensive qualification, our Level 4 Certificate gives you a broader knowledge of effective management skills while focusing on the specific management areas appropriate to the manager and your business. The Certificate takes approximately 3 to 6 months to complete.
Diploma:  With a more comprehensive structure, our Level 4 Diploma provides all the key skills and competencies people need to become the manager you want them to be. The Diploma takes approximately 6 to 12 months to complete.
Learning outcomes
Depending on which module is chosen clearing will provide:
  • An understanding of managerial styles and behaviours
  • An ability to manage stakeholders' expectations
  • An understanding of organisational culture, values and behaviour
  • An understanding and ability to promote equality and diversity
  • An understanding team dynamics

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however learners should:
  • Have experience of working as a first line manager or supervisor in either a paid or unpaid capacity
  • Understand management and leadership concepts relevant to the qualification
  • Be able to investigate theories and current management thinking and link theory to practice
  • Be able to communicate clearly in standard written English
  • Be able to give up to date workplace examples at first line management level from either paid or unpaid work
